The companion plant market is growing in Korea due to various social factors such as population and household shape changes, the COVID-19 pandemic, and increased influence on social media. As a result, as the popularity of plants or crops grown by individuals increases, the demand for them increases. In this study, a prototype of a home smart farm was developed that automatically manages the environment, such as water, temperature, and light of companion plants, using the IOT technology of smart farms. The prototype was designed using 3D modeling and was based on Arduino, and the IOT is divided into a sensor unit and a control unit.Various sensors, such as a temperature and humidity sensor, an illuminance sensor, a soil humidity sensor, and a carbon dioxide sensor, are used to monitor the growth environment of crops in real-time and collect data.Based on the collected data, RGB LED was used to add insufficient light, a servo motor was used to operate a ventilation port, and a system was created to circulate air using a ventilation fan and automatically water companion plants using a water pump.In this way, the control unit controls the environment. In addition, the Husky Lens was used to construct a system that allows users to contact guardians and groups if they are not connected for a long time or are not recognized.Users can conveniently manage companion plants, and at the same time, they have built a smart farm system suitable for modern society and the experience of raising companion plants.
