Abstract Introduction The medical analysis laboratory plays a very important role in the health system because it elaborates the results which can have a critical effect on the patient. The respect of the requirements of health and safety in a medical analysis laboratory ensures the protection of the patients, the staff and the public. The purpose of this study is to determine the risks which can appear in the laboratory and how we can manage these risks. Methods To achieve our goal we use AMDEC to determine the risks which can appear with their criticality index. Also we determined all regulatory requirements applicable in a medical analysis laboratory then we determined the average for applying each requirement. Results we have found that the disrespect of the hygiene rules can even have an influence on the results of the patient. After implementing the regular requirement of health and safety in chapter IV of the guide to good analysis execution, in Morocco we used for another time the self-assessment as indicator of improvement. Discussion and conclusion the implementation of the requirements of the health and safety regulations in medical analysis laboratories conduct to the protection of the patient, the staff and the public. The use of the method AMDEC gives an idea about the risk of non application of the regular requirements and using the self-assessment grid before and after the implementation can determine the improvement reach.
