Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a leading cause of mortality worldwide among cardiovascular diseases. Serum Uric Acid (SUA) is a cost-effective and readily available prognostic marker that may correlate with myocardial damage. Aim of the study is to study SUA levels in patients with AMI. The objectives of the study are to evaluate SUA levels in AMI patients, to assess AMI severity using Killip's classication and to investigate the association and outcomes of elevated SUA levels in AMI. Materials and Methods include a cross-sectional analytical study that was conducted at a tertiary healthcare center in Maharashtra over 1 year and 6 months, involving patients with AMI admitted to Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College 66% were male and 34% female. The mean SUAin survivors was 0.1 ± 0.75 mg/dL, while in the mortality group, it was 8.31 ± 0.75 mg/dL. Astatistically signicant association was found between elevated SUA levels and mortality (p<0.001). Conclusions are SUA levels are elevated in all AMI patients, with males more affected than females. Higher SUAlevels correlated with higher Killip's class and increased mortality. Elevated SUAat admission is signicantly associated with in-hospital mortality and higher cardiovascular complications in AMI patients.
