In the process of truss optimization design, reducing the amount of material, improving the safety and realizing the optimal performance of the structure have become the important design themes. Starting from the basic force mechanism of structural mechanics, this paper analyzes the volume of materials required to make the design of truss with the most sparing materials through design optimization given the relevant bridge topics. Finally, based on the design results, this paper further optimizes the truss. The internal forces of the truss in a given situation are analyzed using structural mechanics, and a set of optimization methods for the truss is proposed based on the results of the analysis. This paper concludes that the optimization of truss is divided into overall optimization and detail optimization, and this optimization method is easier and more operable in designing and optimizing trusses, and the optimized truss requires less material consumption, which avoids the waste of material, reduces the cost of the project, and is more in line with the concept of high-performance design.
