The purpose of this paper is to discuss the current situation and existing problems of guzheng teaching in universities, and to put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. Firstly, through analysing the background and significance of guzheng education in universities, the important position of guzheng teaching in university music education is emphasized. Then, the current situation of guzheng teaching in universities is analysed in detail, including curriculum, teaching content, teaching mode and method, teaching staff and teaching facilities and resources. On this basis, this paper reveals the problems of university guzheng teaching, such as the imperfection of the curriculum and teaching content, the lagging behind of the teaching mode and method, the uneven level of the teaching staff, and the insufficiency of teaching facilities and resources, etc. In order to improve these problems, this paper puts forward a proposal for the improvement of guzheng teaching in universities.
