The study investigates the pharmacognosis of Gliricidia sepium (Fabaceace) root through macroscopical studies. The root consists of periderm, cork layers, and parenchymatous cells. The xylem region contains xylem fibers, vessels, and rays. Powder microscopy shows fragments of root parts, calcium oxalate prismatic crystals, and disintegrated cortex cells. Physicochemical parameters like moisture content, total ash value, sulphated ash value, acid insoluble ash value, water-soluble ash value, and extractive value were determined.
