Abstract The author describes a method of evaluating range condition by estimating current in relation to potential productivity. The method is said to be easier to learn and quicker to apply than the standard range survey method. Guides are developed for each range type by which the field worker is aided in determining classification. Preparation of these guides requires thorough knowledge of range ecology.
