As more and more people turn to online labor market platforms, their behavior patterns seem to depend on certain national factors. This research compared the activity patterns demonstrated by different populations on online labor markets, i.e., dynamics, expansion, involvement peculiarities, and limitations. Conventional methods combined with economic analysis and graphical method were applied to data provided by Statista, the World Bank, the International Telecommunication Union, and the Online Labor Observatory, as well as to data obtained from of the five largest English-language online employment platforms and six non-English-language platforms (three Hispanic and three Russian). India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Russia demonstrated the highest population activity in terms of forming the labor supply. The article describes the factors that contribute to the intensive development of online market platforms in developing countries, as well as the difficulties and limitations faced by online workers. The integrated approach to the cross-country differentiation of online labor market platforms made it possible to formulate a set of recommendations to encourage online labor market platforms and reduce some existing restrictions.
