The exponential rise of counterfeit academic qualifications presents substantial difficulties for institutions and employers, requiring strong and effective verification mechanisms. This study proposes a blockchain-based solution for the secure validation of academic credentials, utilizing Hyperledger Fabric to provide a decentralized, tamper-resistant method of certificate administration. The system utilizes cryptographic methods to store certificate data as immutable records on the blockchain, employing distinct hash values for each certificate to strengthen data integrity and safeguard against unwanted modifications. A mobile application based on Android and a web dashboard enable user interactions, enabling administrators to issue certificates and users to validate credentials easily through QR code scanning. The utilization of the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) for decentralized storage enhances scalability by preserving certificate files off-chain while retaining hash references on the blockchain. The suggested system tackles critical issues like interoperability, scalability, and regulatory compliance. Strategies to promote wider adoption encompass the establishment of cross-chain frameworks to improve interoperability with other blockchain networks and compliance with data protection legislation such as GDPR. An examination of legal factors, encompassing intellectual property rights and adherence to international norms, further guarantees the system's applicability across diverse nations. Performance evaluations indicate substantial enhancements in verification speed, traceability, and data security relative to conventional approaches. This study underscores the transformative capacity of blockchain technology in the authentication of academic credentials, providing a reliable and efficient substitute for traditional paper-based or centralized digital verification methods, thereby facilitating wider implementation in educational and professional contexts.
