The informal economy in Côte d'Ivoire plays a significant role in the country's GDP, yet its contribution remains understudied. A comprehensive review of existing literature on the informal economy and GDP in African contexts will be employed, focusing on econometric models and qualitative analysis. This framework provides a robust theoretical foundation to inform future empirical research on the economic impact of the informal sector in Côte d'Ivoire. Policy makers should prioritise inclusive growth strategies that support the development of the informal economy while addressing regulatory barriers.
