Agriculture plays a pivotal role in Mozambique's economy, particularly among smallholder farmers who often face significant yield variability due to climate and market fluctuations. A mixed-methods approach incorporating surveys, interviews, and data analysis was employed to assess policy effectiveness and farmer perceptions. The survey revealed a statistically significant improvement (p<0.05) in crop yields among insured farmers compared to non-insured counterparts, highlighting the efficacy of insurance schemes. Sustainable agriculture insurance policies have proven effective in mitigating yield instability for smallholder farmers in Mozambique's Highlands, warranting further policy implementation and evaluation. Policy makers should consider expanding coverage areas and enhancing financial support mechanisms to ensure broader benefits from these programmes.
