Recent conflicts in post-conflict African states have highlighted significant legal challenges and opportunities for reform. The study employs both qualitative interviews with legal practitioners and quantitative analysis of legal documents to provide a comprehensive understanding of current legal practices and reforms. A key finding is the inconsistent application of new laws across different regions in Kenya, which affects equitable access and enforcement. This mixed methods approach reveals disparities and gaps in post-conflict legal systems that require targeted interventions to improve their effectiveness. Policy recommendations include strengthening legal training programmes for judges and lawyers, and implementing more robust monitoring mechanisms for law implementation.
