Abstract Sleep difficulties have become increasingly common in modern societies, where stress, irregular schedules, excessive screen exposure, and physical tension disrupt the body’s natural rhythms. Many individuals rely on medication to manage insomnia, yet drug-based approaches often address symptoms rather than underlying causes. This article explores sleep from both contemporary physiological perspectives and traditional Chinese medicine insights. It introduces the HanFlow framework, which understands sleep as the natural outcome of balanced daily rhythms: movement rhythm, structural rhythm, and internal rhythm. When these rhythms are aligned, the body can transition more easily from activity to rest. The article presents a gentle evening wind-down routine integrating Tai Chi closing movements, self-Tuina techniques, and abdominal awareness meditation. Together, these practices help calm the nervous system, release accumulated tension, and settle attention in the body’s center. Rather than forcing sleep, the HanFlow approach emphasizes creating supportive conditions that allow rest to arise naturally. By combining traditional embodied practices with modern lifestyle awareness, this approach offers a simple, drug-free pathway for improving sleep quality and restoring balance in everyday life.
