ABSTRACT There have been a number of reports on the effects of early occlusion on the visual system of cats, monkeys, and humans. In the present paper, a patient with amblyopia resulting from prolonged early occlusion in the treatment of strabismus is described, and implications for management of early strabismus are discussed.
