Psychological policies in Tanzania have evolved significantly over recent decades, influenced by both local cultural contexts and international psychological theories. The study employs a mixed-methods approach involving surveys, qualitative interviews, and secondary data analysis. Comparative case studies from four major regions—Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, and North Eastern—are examined to identify commonalities and unique features in policy frameworks. Key findings indicate that while all regions share a focus on mental health education and awareness campaigns, implementation disparities exist, with some areas benefiting from more integrated community-based services than others. The analysis reveals significant variations in the effectiveness of psychological policies across Tanzania, necessitating tailored interventions to address regional-specific challenges effectively. Policy recommendations include strengthening inter-regional collaboration, enhancing provider training programmes, and integrating traditional healing practices into modern mental health frameworks.
