A. Jared Bucker is Program Professor of Applied Research for the Fischler Graduate School of Education and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University in North Miami Beach, Florida. He has written extensively on technology in learning, particularly focusing on evaluation and assessment. Bucker earned his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Miami (Florida) where he taught research design and methodology. Bucker is now investigating the satisfaction levels of Distance Education students pursuing their graduate degrees via distance delivery. Her research has investigated the use of technology to address students' learning styles and foster self-efficacy.Sha Li, is an associate professor of educational technology in the School of Education at Alabama A an M.Ed. in TESOL from Langston University, OK; and a B.Ed. in English education from Hunan Educational College in China. His research interests are in distance education, multimedia effectiveness in learning, and English linguistics.Nancy J. Maushak is an assistant professor of instructional technology in the College of Education at Texas Tech University where she teaches graduate classes in distance education and technology integration. She is a proponent of the constructivist environment and utilizes her online courses to both model student-centered learning and teach design, theory and pedagogy. Maushak earned her degree in Instructional technology at Iowa State University in 1997. Her research agenda includes evaluation of the impact of technology integration and effective technology integration in both k-12 and higher education.Douglas R. McCoy is the Associate Dean for Student Development at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois. McCoy has over ten years' experience, both as an instructor and administrator, in a variety of higher education environments. His interest in distance education stems from the development of online and two-way interactive student services at four-year private institutions and two-year community colleges. He has written and presented on a number of distance education student service applications, including the use of wireless technologies to meet the evolving needs of distance learners.Buford L. (Mac) McWright received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University in 1976. He received an M.Ed. in Secondary Education in 1995, an M.S. in Educational Technology in 1996, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, in 1999, from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M—Commerce). A former Director of Information Technology at a Kentucky community college, he is now an assistant professor of education at the University of Texas Pan American, where he teaches courses in educational technology, classroom management, and effective teaching practices. He also serves as a dissertation adviser for the Instructional Technology and Distance Education program at Nova Southeastern University.Christine K. Sorensen is Dean of the College of Education at Northern Illinois University. Her interests in distance education go back to her years at Iowa State University, when she was an evaluator for a number of projects, including the Iowa Star Schools Project. She has written and presented on instruction in both interactive video and Web-based environments and teaches a workshop on teaching at a distance. Sorensen has ten years of experience in teaching in distance education settings, including both interactive video and Web-based courses.Sharon E. Smaldino is a professor of educational technology and coordinator of the Instructional Technology Program in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Northern Iowa, where she teaches graduate-level courses in instructional design. She is president-elect of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology.Ronald Zellner received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (Child Development) at Arizona State University in 1973 and subsequently taught in programs of educational psychology, school psychology, and general psychology. He became the coordinator of the Texas A&M University Educational Technology program in 1984. He teaches courses related to Microcomputer Applications for Educators, CAI, Computer Graphics, and Computer Utilization in Educational Research. Interests include computer applications in education, teaching/learning strategies, Internet/intranet management of instructional materials and student products (local and distance formats), and teacher preparation.Lihua Zheng is a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Northern Iowa.
