This paper serves as a companion paper to Mental-4-Element Framework v1.4 (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19148797). This paper examines the complementary role of the Mental-4-Element Framework in relation to four existing theories: Kegan's Theory of Adult Development, Aron's HSP theory, the Big Five personality model, and Dabrowski's Theory of Positive Disintegration. It proposes that by placing phenomena described individually by each theory onto a single coordinate system, the framework may complement the gaps between them. This paper also introduces new hypotheses regarding the meaning of the Quadrant IV to Quadrant III transition as defensive adaptation, and the role of Sensitivity as an upper-limit condition for development.
