This study investigates the evolving legal status of Transgender individuals in India through the eye of human rights. I carefully analyze the constitutional protections, legislative amendments, judicial decisions and socio legal challenges encountered by Transgender individuals. The focus is on India’s advancement in promoting the principles of equality, dignity and non – discrimination for the Third gender community in connection with both national and international human rights standards. Transgender persons have historically encountered marginalization and violations of their human rights on a global scale, specifically within conservative societies. This research paper examines the complex landscape of Transgender rights in India highlighting the intersection of gender inequality and human rights. Despite legal advancements, such as National Legal Services Authority V/s Union of India, this recognized the rights of Transgender people, societal discrimination, economic marginalization and lack of access to essential services continue to perpetuate inequality.
