This paper introduces the Paton Compass Overlay as a directional admissibility-navigation layer operating across recursive cognitive topology within the Paton System. The framework proposes that recursive cognition may be interpreted not merely as symbolic processing or probabilistic state transition, but as weighted traversal through dynamically deforming continuity topology governed by admissibility constraints, convergence pressure, recursive inheritance, and observer-relative continuity preservation. Importantly, the Paton Compass Overlay does not replace the existing recursive cognitive mathematical framework. Rather, it functions as a directional operator field, admissibility-guidance layer, continuity-preservation mechanism, and recursive traversal compass acting across cognitive topology space. The paper formalises: • directional continuity operators, • topology-preserving traversal vectors, • admissibility filtering, • convergence-guided narrowing, • observer-relative orientation, • and recursive continuity navigation. The framework increasingly interprets cognition as admissible traversal through recursive continuity geometry under weighting pressure and environmental modulation. The paper remains intentionally structural rather than neurological or clinical. Its purpose is the formalisation of directional admissibility navigation within recursive cognitive topology as part of the broader continuity architecture of the Paton System.
