AbstractAchievement motivation is one of the most significant psychological factors influencingacademic success, sports performance, and personal development among adolescents. Thepresent study aimed to compare achievement motivation levels among rural and urban highschool students of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. A total of 300 students from Srikakulam,Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam districts were selected for the investigation. Achievementmotivation was assessed using a standardized questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performedusing mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The findings revealed differences in achievementmotivation between rural and urban students, indicating the influence of educationalenvironment, parental support, socioeconomic conditions, and exposure to opportunities. Thestudy highlights the importance of motivational development in schools and emphasizes the roleof teachers, parents, and educational institutions in fostering achievement-oriented behavioramong students. The results provide useful insights for educators, psychologists, coaches, andpolicymakers interested in improving student performance and personal growth.
