This study focused on political leadership and socio-economic development in Nigeria. The study was carried out to determine how the Nigeria political leaders have contributed in stabilizing the Nigeria economy. Social contract and vacuum filling theories were usedfor the study. The study used descriptive research design and secondary data were collected and used. It was discovered that there is need to effectively use political leadership in human capital development; and infrastructural development of Nigeria. Based on that, it was recommended that corruption must be eliminated to its barest minimum, if possible eradicated. Adequate punishment should be given to offenders to serve as deterrent to others. As that will help to improve socio-economic development of Nigeria.
