Abstract

In June–July 2014, a trial excavation was conducted west of the village of Sha‘ab (Permit No. A-7159; map ref. 221400–750/754800–755200; Fig. 1) prior to the construction of a new neighborhood. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Ministry of Construction and Housing, was directed by R. Abu Raya (field photography), with the assistance of Y. Yaakobi (administration), E. Stern (field supervising), R. Mishayev and M. Kahan (surveying and drafting) and A. Shapiro (GPS and plans).
