In July – August 2019, a trial excavation was conducted at Tel Bet A h u (Permit No. A-8570; map ref. 255894–6292/792158–383; Fig. 1), prior to the construction of a new residential neighborhood in the northeast of Qiryat Shemona. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Ministry of Construction and Housing, was directed by A. Kleiner (photography and photogrammetry), with the assistance of R. Assis and A. Keidar-Goldberg (area supervision), Y. Yaakobi (administration), A. Shapiro (location map and geology), E. Dalali-Amos (plans), Y. Gorin-Rosen (glass), M. Bekker Shamir (stoneware), I. Ktalav (molluscs), L. Porat (pottery reconstruction), P. Spivak (flints) and H. Tahan-Rosen (finds drawing), as well as laborers from Kafr Yasif and Majd al-Krum .
