This article examines the fairy tale genre, beginning with an analysis of the marvelous tale based on Todorov’s framework, and subsequently addressing the enchanting dimension through the perspectives of Benjamin, Lüthi, Chiampi, Jolles, Coelho, Volobuef, and Valenzuela. The investigation continues by exploring the origins of fairy tales, identifying in primordial narratives and Celtic myths sources for the development of stories that depict the intervention of female beings, mediating relationships between two worlds: the natural and the supernatural. Finally, the article concludes with a reflection on the role of fairy tales in contemporary times, drawing insights from Tatar, Machado, Estés, and Carter.
