Given that many loanwords have entered the Korean lexicon from foreign languages, teaching them to Korean Language learners has become important for improving learners' communication skills. To list loanwords that should be taught in Korean as a foreign language education, this study analyzed the basic loanword-related concepts discussed in the Korean linguistics and this paper suggests providing learners with useful study material from a pedagogical approach. Specifically, the teaching of frequently used loanwords is necessary, and a learner dictionary should include the foreign names of places and persons related to learners' cultural backgrounds from a learner-centered approach. Exposing learners to loanwords with a non-standard form is also important, and notably, there exist foreign-originated words that have not yet been acknowledged as loanwords.
