Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the contents and methods of Korean cultural education using cultural vocabulary based on a list of Korean cultural education vocabulary for advanced Chinese learners derived through the literature research method. Methods To this end, first, the types of cultural vocabulary and the content of cultural education were reviewed. Second, three goals of cultural education using cultural vocabulary were presented, and three principles of Korean cultural education using cultural vocabulary were introduced. Then, a total of 379 Korean cultural education vocabulary for advanced Chinese learners was selected according to the four cultural vocabulary selection criteria and three vocabulary selection procedures. Finally, the contents and methods of Korean cultural education using cultural vocabulary for advanced Chinese learners were presented. Results Based on the previously selected Korean cultural education vocabulary, Korean cultural education contents using cultural vocabulary were prepared. Specifically, Korean cultural education for advanced Chinese learners will be conducted, focusing on 117 life culture vocabulary, 128 ideal culture vocabulary, 80 language culture vocabulary, and 54 achievement culture vocabulary. Then based on the contents of Korean culture education using cultural vocabulary for advanced Chinese learners, the Korean culture education method using cultural vocabulary was classified as the experience-oriented method, the understanding-oriented method, the activity-oriented method, and the comparison-oriented method. Conclusions To recognize Korean-Chinese cultural differences and improve the ability of advanced Chinese learners to accept multiculturalism, it is necessary to systematically present the educational contents and methods of Korean culture by type. First of all, life culture education in Korea can use an experience-oriented education method using life culture vocabulary. Next, Korean language culture education can use an activity-oriented education method using language culture vocabulary. Subsequently, achievement culture education in Korea can use an understanding-oriented Korean culture education method using achievement culture vocabulary. Finally, Korean ideal culture can use a comparison-oriented education method using ideal culture vocabulary.
