Abstract Transcatheter removal of right-sided vegetations has been reported, and anecdotal reports of transcatheter removal of left-sided valvular vegetations are present in the literature, but these procedures were done without or with partial cerebral embolic protection. We report a case of transcatheter removal of a vegetation from a contemporary mitral bioprosthetic valve and describe a novel technique of obtaining extended embolic protection using double SENTINEL (Boston Scientific) filters.
