Does quantitative grading of mitral regurgitation predict clinical outcomes in patients with asymptomatic mitral regurgitation?
An effective regurgitant orifice of ≥40 mm² in asymptomatic mitral regurgitation is a strong predictor of adverse clinical outcomes, warranting early surgical intervention.
