The emergence of digital technologies has significantly redefined the role and functioning of academic libraries. Moving beyond traditional print-based systems, modern academic libraries are evolving into dynamic digital knowledge hubs that facilitate seamless access to information. This study investigates the role of academic libraries in the digital era with special reference to MES T.O. Abdulla Memorial College Library. The research focuses on digital resource utilization, implementation of library automation systems such as Koha, and user engagement with electronic services. A structured survey was conducted among students and faculty members to analyze usage patterns and satisfaction levels. The findings reveal a growing preference for digital resources due to their accessibility, convenience, and time efficiency. The study also emphasizes the importance of user awareness and digital literacy programs to enhance effective utilization of library services. It concludes that continuous technological adaptation and professional skill development among librarians are essential for sustaining the relevance of academic libraries in the evolving digital landscape.
