This article explains Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Smart Records Management in accelerating knowledge commercialisation in modern digital settings. It shows that AI systems rely on organized data infrastructures such as structured databases, data warehouses, and knowledge graphs to produce machine-generated insights through processes like pattern recognition, forecasting, and semantic analysis. Smart Records Management supports this by facilitating intelligent handling of records across their lifecycle from creation, storage, retrieval, and distribution, through automation and machine learning. The study emphasizes that AI converts organizational data into usable insights that drive innovation, improve decision-making, and generate economic value. It also explains that integrating AI with records systems enhances knowledge accessibility, reduces retrieval time, and improves overall organizational efficiency. Yet, adoption is limited by issues such as high costs, privacy concerns, lack of technical expertise, and regulatory compliance demands. In conclusion, the article argues that AI-enabled records ecosystems play a significant role in promoting knowledge commercialisation, innovation, and competitive advantage in today’s global economy. It is recommended among others that acquisition of technical knowledge, following the fast technological change, adoption of easy to pay technology, acquisition of daily maintenance requirement and respecting privacy of unauthorized sources shall be carried out to address the challenges of the use of Artificial Intelligence in Smart Records Management for accelerating knowledge commercialization.
