Key Points

  • The central aim is to evaluate the reliability of a proposed measurement architecture for Human Restoration Theory (HRT).
  • Defines a Core Candidate Multimodal Signature (CCMS) that integrates several physiological and mechanical factors.
  • Specifies standards for task performance and data quality regarding HRT measurements.
  • Establishes preregistration rules and failure conditions to ensure empirical rigor.
  • Success in achieving reliable measurement of the CCMS differs significantly from traditional metrics like posture and fitness.
  • Empirical tests determine if null or non-discriminating results necessitate revision of the theoretical constructs of HRT.

Abstract

Abstract Human Restoration Theory (HRT) proposes that organism-level mechanical organization under gravity can alter the regulatory cost, reliability, adaptive options, and chronicity of living function. Its central distinction is between reliable load conduction and the preservation of function by continuous active stabilization. This document converts that distinction into a candidate measurement and falsification architecture. It does not treat Skeletal Conduction Failure (SCF), the Reflexive Axis, chronic stabilization, or restoration as directly observable entities. Instead, it defines a Core Candidate Multimodal Signature (CCMS) spanning mechanical context, neuromuscular demand, perturbation reliability, whole-body cost, and adaptive repertoire. It specifies task standardization, permitted inferences, comparator models, data-quality gates, preregistration rules, and failure conditions. The empirical objective is not to confirm HRT through a single score or visible pattern. It is to determine whether a pre-specified candidate signature can be measured reliably, distinguish itself from posture, strength, pain, fitness, generic motor control, and task effects, and add predictive value for reliability, cost, or context transfer. Null, opposite, or non-discriminating results require construct revision or rejection. The architecture therefore makes HRT empirically vulnerable while preserving the distinction between theoretical constructs, observable proxies, and long-horizon biological processes.
