Stephan D. Fihn is a professor of medicine and health systems and population health at the University of Washington, where he serves as head of the Division of General Internal Medicine. He has contributed to multiple clinical practice guidelines for the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association on topics including the diagnosis and management of stable ischemic heart disease and duration of dual antiplatelet therapy. He previously held leadership positions in the Veterans Health Administration, including director of the Northwest HSR&D Center of Excellence at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System from 1993 to 2011.
