Richard D. Lane, MD, PhD is a tenured Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. He is a clinical psychiatrist and psychodynamic psychotherapist whose research focuses on emotion, emotional awareness, and neurovisceral integration using fMRI, with NIH-funded studies on the role of emotion in mind-body interactions including susceptibility to sudden cardiac death. He has authored over 200 papers and book chapters and served as President of the American Psychosomatic Society from 2005-2006.
