Professor Karlheinz Peter is Deputy Director of Discovery Science and Head of the Atherothrombosis and Vascular Biology laboratory at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. He is Head of the Baker Department of Cardiometabolic Health at the University of Melbourne, an interventional cardiologist at the Alfred Hospital, and holds professorial positions at Monash University and La Trobe University. His research focuses on cellular mechanisms of coronary artery disease, platelets, coagulation, inflammation, and novel biomarker and imaging approaches.
