Marcello Rota

Marcello Rota is an associate professor in the department of physiology at New York Medical College, where he leads a laboratory focused on cellular alterations underlying defective heart performance and corrective interventions for myocardial restoration. He previously served as a lecturer at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School from 2007 to 2016. His research includes signaling pathways in ischemic injury, the interplay between electrical properties and contractile function in the aged heart, and electromechanical remodeling following ischemic damage.
