John Gergely (1919–2013) was a biochemist and muscle researcher born in Budapest, Hungary. He earned his MD from the University of Budapest in 1942 and later worked in the United States, including at the Boston Biomedical Research Institute where he directed the Department of Muscle Research. His research focused on muscle proteins, myosin, and related physiological processes.
