John T. Shepherd

John T. Shepherd (1919–2011) was a British-American cardiologist and medical researcher in cardiovascular physiology. He studied medicine at Queen's University Belfast and joined the Mayo Clinic in 1957, where he remained until retirement in 1989, serving as chair of the department of physiology and biophysics, director of research, and dean of the Mayo Medical School. He authored over 300 scientific articles and books on cardiovascular regulation.
