Mark Southwood

Mark Southwood works in Vascular / Pulmonary Vascular affiliated with MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology.

Mark Southwood is Histopathology Core Facility Manager at the MRC Toxicology Unit, which he joined in January 2022. He previously conducted post-doctoral research at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, including as an NIHR Chief Scientific Officers Healthcare Scientist Post-Doctoral Fellow from 2010 to 2014 exploring biomarkers for pulmonary hypertension with the Pulmonary Vascular Diseases Unit at Royal Papworth Hospital and the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. He holds a PhD from the University of the West of England investigating bone morphogenetic signalling in pulmonary arterial hypertension.
