Morten Smerup

Morten Smerup is the head of paediatric cardiac surgery at Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, and an associate professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen. He has served as a consultant cardiac surgeon at Rigshospitalet since 2015 and previously at Aarhus University Hospital from 2013 to 2014. He has performed over 2800 open heart surgeries and published 87 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals.
