Electromagnetic compatibility. Part 1. The role and place in on-board electronic complexes. Analysis of the problem status

The strengthening of the role and importance of remote control of space, air, sea and land-based objects, as well as information exchange between them, leads to a quantitative increase in the use of radio-electronic means for various purposes, both in attack and defense systems. In turn, the group application of these systems based on aircraft using integrated on-board radio electronic complexes leads to the concentration of various radio electronic means and systems in a limited space with the creation of mutual unintended radio interference, disrupting their joint and individual work. In this regard, a solution to the problem of ensuring electromagnetic compatibility for jointly functioning on-board radio systems is very much in demand. The purpose of the article is to analyze and systematize information about the state of electromagnetic compatibility in on-board integrated radio electronic complexes and develop scientifically based recommendations on promising areas and ways to ensure it. The article discusses: the role and place of electromagnetic compatibility at various stages of development and operation of airborne radio electronic complexes aircraft; sources of unintended interference and channels for their entry into the on-board equipment. At the same time, a simplified model for estimating the space of unintended interference interaction of the radio-electronic means is presented. The influence of unintended interference on the quality of their functioning is considered. In conclusion, an analysis of the state of electromagnetic compatibility of on-board radio electronic complexes was carried out. Further in a series of subsequent articles will be considered: varieties and sources of unintended interference; the main domestic and foreign regulatory documents in the field of electromagnetic compatibility; the main indicators of the electromagnetic compatibility of on-board electronic equipment and complexes and methods of their assessment; the influence of electromagnetic compatibility on the system indicators of the perfection of on-board RECs (efficiency, survivability, dynamism, etc.); methods for evaluating and ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility of on-board radio-electronic means and complexes; promising areas for improving the methods of providing electromagnetic compatibility for on-board radio-electronic complexes.
