The study focused on the influence of the emotional intelligence of entrepreneurs as an issue that could affect the sustainability of fish farms in Anambra State due to a high rate of fish farm shutdowns. Poor emotional intelligence and poor management of interpersonal relationship between business owners was deemed as the underlying cause. In particular, the paper evaluated the role of self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and relationship management in the fish farm sustainability. The research was based on Theory of Emotional Intelligence with survey research design used. The study population was business people in fish farms in Anambra State and the sample size covered 382 respondents who were selected according to Cochran formula. The validated questionnaire was administered to collect data and reliability was verified by the pilot-study that gave a cronbach alpha of 0.796. The data were descriptively presented carried by descriptive statistics (frequency and percentages) and the hypotheses were tested by multiple regression analysis at 5 percent of significance level. Findings showed that the five dimensions of emotional intelligence had a positive significant impact in relation to fish farm sustainability. Finding is that emotional intelligence plays a leading role in the sustainability of fish farms. It suggests that the fish farm business entrepreneurs develop emotional intelligence especially self awareness to add to the life and success of the business.
