Starting from primary archival sources, the present work, with the scientific title mentioned above, refers to the interest that the Romanian Communist Party throughout its existence has shown regarding the historical monuments in our country. On a local level, in Buzau district, as is the case of our article, special attention was paid to honoring the cemeteries that contained graves of Soviet soldiers. The communist regime’s interest in culture has been active since the moment it took power and infiltrates all state institutions, museums for example being institutions of great importance for the development of its cultural propaganda. With the help of museum activities, the communist regime could implement its own ideology in the heart of the population, especially since, in addition to schoolchildren and preschoolers, the next category of people who were scheduled to visit them in fairly large numbers was the working class in factories and plants. The information found in the content of the article refers to the year 1965, a period when Nicolae Ceaușescu was at the helm of the country, who at first continued the directions imposed by the regime of the last years of Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, later he wanted and managed to distance himself from his politics. When Nicolae Ceaușescu came to power, he showed a slight liberalization of the regime by having open dialogues with people of culture, feeling some relaxation in all social environments.
