There are two categories of historians who write history. One, historians who simply narrate the history and two, historians who analyze and interpret it. Only forward-thinking historians belong to the latter category due to their capability to make history serve as a functional lesson for future generations. Muhammad Jamil Bayyuhum, a historian from Lebanon, is known for his philosophy of history and analytical approach. This study focuses on two objectives. First, to comprehend the process of synthesizing the philosophical ideas of history in the book titled Falsafah al-Tarikh al- ‘Uthmani by Muhammad Jamil Bayyuhum. Second, to explain each idea that had been expounded by him. This study employs qualitative methods and uses text study designs analysing Falsafah al-Tarikh al-‘Uthmani as the primary source, supported by relevant secondary sources. Content analysis serves as the data analysis technique. The result of this study demonstrates that Muhammad Jamil Bayyuhum has successfully integrated the philosophy of history into the development of the Ottoman Empire, providing a comprehensive analysis in alignment with this approach.
