The purpose of the study is to identify the potential and feasibility of using Yakut national games in the educational and training process of players engaged in table tennis. Research methods and organization. In the course of the research, a survey was conducted among coaches in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from various regions, possessing extensive experience (ranging from 5 to 30 years) in the practical preparation of table tennis players. 70% of the surveyed coaches held coaching qualifications. The coaches were asked to respond to 14 questions regarding the use of Yakut national games during training sessions. Research results. Based on an analysis of expert opinions, the most frequently used Yakut national games by table tennis coaches, along with their specifics and direction, have been identified. It has been established that over 80% of table tennis coaches incorporate Yakut national games to some extent during the initial stages of player training. The necessity for a targeted and scientifically justified methodology for their use has been highlighted. Conclusions. It has been revealed that the use of Yakut national games in the training process of young players allows for the development of essential physical qualities necessary for successful play in table tennis. It has been established that scientifically grounded developments (the content of the games, methods of their implementation) for the training of young table tennis players do not currently exist.
