The coronavirus pandemic has made its own adjustments in many spheres of life, including the hospitality and tourism industry, having a significant impact on previously familiar practices and trends in the development of the industry. In this article, key trends are analyzed and the main changes caused by the pandemic are identified. The dynamics of the increase in the number of collective accommodations is analyzed and their distribution across federal districts over the past 20 years is presented. The dynamics of the number of persons placed in collective accommodation facilities for the study period is assessed as well. Possible directions for restoring the hospitality and tourism industry are outlined.
