Through the exploration of Mini Web-dramas, this study showed that Mini Web-dramas developed rapidly amid a large influx of capital, support and encouragement for video platforms, rapid development of technology, and the positive role of government regulatory management and policy. As is well known, Mini Web-dramas have characteristics such as low cost, light content, flexible creation, popularization, and efficient operation. Mini Web-dramas have developed through four stages: germination, exploration, growth and prosperity, and the current situation is as follows. First of all, the supply of content is exploding. In addition, modern urban dramas are more preferred, and love and urban materials and historical drama materials are gaining popularity. The industrial chain is becoming more and more completely structured, among which producers, screenwriters, platform operators, and distributors are playing a pivotal role. The rise and development of Mini Web-dramas not only expanded the audience’s aesthetic space and strengthened user consciousness, but also revitalized the video industry and has a deep sociocultural impact on the media ecosystem. However, there are a number of problems to be solved behind this rapid development. Problems that can weaken the user’s independent thinking ability, cause user aesthetic fatigue,potential risks of “poisonous materials” cannot be ignored. and further increase the crisis of mainstream value recognition, especially the Future tasks require continuous high quality of content, enhancement of qualitative productivity through the application of new technologies, cost reduction and efficiency increase, realization of quality improvement, and accumulation of rich content experiences.
