The digitalization of management processes in food industry enterprises of the Republic of Moldova represents a significant opportunity for increasing competitiveness and efficiency in this sector. This in turn is the main sector in the economy of any country, since sustainable food production and supply chain management are always a global challenge that attracts increased interest. This increased interest is a result of the daily increase in demand for food as a result of population growth. As a result, in the food industry, there is a continuous increase in demand for natural resources used in production and throughout the supply system of this industry, as well as increased activity. In addition, in the food industry, concern is daily created regarding environmental sustainability in this sector, thanks to challenges such as food security, health and safety, food waste, fair trade, climate change, etc. Therefore, in this article, the author proposes a study conducted on determining the innovation potential of management processes in food industry enterprises of the Republic of Moldova. The goal is to determine the needs for digitizing managerial processes and to provide innovation opportunities through digitization that can lead to the automation of production and inventory management processes, improving product quality and traceability, modernizing and perfecting logistics and marketing, increasing their sustainability, etc.
