The article focuses on the pragmatic aspects of translation, particularly the translation of fairy tales. Pragmatics is considered a field that studies the relationship between language, its speaker, and the social context. Taking pragmatic aspects into account in translation is of great importance, as translation involves not only the accurate rendering of word meanings but also the preservation of cultural, social, and linguistic features. The article examines issues related to the perception of translation depending on national culture and situational context. Particular attention is paid to word choice in translations into the Kazakh language and the ways of preserving the original meaning of fairy tales through the conveyance of national characteristics. The authors aim to highlight the connection between translation and pragmatics. The importance of the cultural specificity of fairy tales and the positive attitude toward their translation from other languages is emphasized. The pragmatic approach to translation goes beyond the mere selection of lexical means, placing emphasis on social and cultural aspects. The article also analyzes the necessity of conveying the original meaning to a new audience. Its conclusions contribute to the development of translation theory from a pragmatic perspective and reveal the connection between language and culture in fairy tales
