The article discusses problematic issues of providing high-quality medical care to sick convicts in correctional institutions, as well as issues related to medical and drug provision in correctional institutions in the Ryazan region. Proposals have been formulated aimed at the need to improve the interaction of medical services of penitentiary institutions with public health in terms of providing medical care to convicts. It is proposed to attribute the treatment of sick convicts to the means of their correction, and to consider the attitude of sick convicts to their state of health and treatment as a criterion for evaluating their correction.
