Motivation: DWI with RDC technique (RDC DWI) might be more useful than conventional DWI (cDWI) to improve diagnostic performance of metastatic lymph node in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Goal(s): The goal was to determine the utility of RDC DWI to improve differentiation capability for lymph node metastasis as compared with cDWI and PET/CT in NSCLC patients. Approach: This clinical study examined 69 metastatic and 69 no-metastatic lymph nodes by RDC DWI, cDWI and FDG-PET/CT, and diagnostic performance for lymph node were statistically compared among them. Results: Specificity and accuracy of RDC DWI were significantly higher than those of cDWI and PET/CT (p<0.05). Impact: RDC DWI has better potentials for improving distortion, image quality and diagnosis of lymph node metastasis as compared with cDWI and FDG-PET/CT in NSCLC patients.
